CAMERON CARRELLA, TRUMPET
Cameron Carrella is a performer and educator whose work bridges both classical and jazz traditions. A native of Bayville, New York, he studied classical trumpet in high school before earning a BFA in Jazz Studies at Purchase College. He is currently pursuing a master’s in music education at Queens College’s Aaron Copland School of Music. Cameron leads his own jazz groups in community venues across Long Island and also performs with wedding bands. Alongside an active performing life, he teaches music at Kramer Lane Elementary School in the Bethpage School District, where he brings the same energy and passion to his students that he brings to the stage.
Cameron is the first recipient of the NSSO's Long Island Music Educator's Performance Prize.
