Jeong Yoon Park, cello


Dr. Jeong Yoon Park is a cello faculty member for the Long Island Conservatory Precollege and College Divisions. Educated in South Korea and Germany, she holds a Ph.D in Music from the Hochschule für Musik in Wuerzburg, Germany, and a Master’s degree of Cello and Chamber Music from Detmold, Germany, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Seoul National University.


Dr. Park's artistry has been recognized with several awards, including a First Prize in the Korean Times Competition, the Tibor Varga Scholarship from the Swiss and Lions Club award from Germany. An active performer and recitalist, she has appeared as the Principal Cellist with the Seoul Metropolitan Orchestra, New York Symphony Orchestra and North Shore Symphony Orchestra, as soloist with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Metropolitan Orchestra, the Yewon Orchestra, Detmold Chamber Orchestra and Wuerzburg Mozart Festival Orchestra. She has also been a jury member of Concert Festival, LISMA International Competition, Manhattan International Music Competition, New York Music International Concours, YWCA New York competition, Prima Volta, Camerata International Competition and the coach of Long Island Youth Orchestra. In addition, she has given master classes in conjunction with North Shore Symphony Orchestra Education Outreach Program and Long Island University.
