Performers Competition, and 2nd Prize in the Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia Youth Artist Competition. Carolyn has served as principal/co-principal flute with several orchestras including the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony Orchestra, the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Philharmonic Orchestra, and the MYO Principal Orchestra. This summer, she will join Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) for their 2022 season European tour. She has been accepted to the BU Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Orchestra and attended the Eastern Music Festival, ARIA International Summer Academy, and Kinhaven Music School, among other festivals. Carolyn has also studied flute with Judith Mendenhall, Zara Lawler, Lauren Ausubel, and Susan Deaver.
























Carolyn Lau hails from Roslyn Heights, NY, and is in her junior year at Herricks High School. She is a music student at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division where she studies flute with Carol Wincenc. Carolyn has performed as a soloist with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York (MYO) as winner of their Concerto Competition. She is a two-time National Young Arts Classical Music award winner and a winner in the National Flute Association (NFA) High School Masterclass Competition. Carolyn has also received other recognitions including 1st Prize in the North Shore Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition, 1st Prize in the international Great Composers Winds and Percussion Competition, 2nd Prize in the international American Music Talent Competition, 2nd Prize in the Island Symphony Orchestra Young
